Dinner at Sushi Matsue
All postcards are printed on 300 gsm art card with matte finish.
After visiting Shibuya Sky, I roamed around the restaurants area of Shibuya Scramble Square. I settled for Sushi Matsue, an upscale sushi restaurant that did not have a long queue. I waited outside for a seat, and within 10 minutes, I was ushered in to the restaurant dining area. I ordered a 12-sushi meal and also some Hakkaisan sake for my dinner.
The sake was served in an interesting-looking oval metal container, and some omakase appetizers were served. I immediately took out my sketchbook and made some sketches of this scene before me before I finished the appetizers.
The 12-sushi meal was separated into 2 plates and the first plate came shortly after I finished the appetizers. It consisted of some fish, scallop and uni sushi and the plate was absolutely fitting for serving the food. I made a sketch of the sushi on my sketchbook before enjoying them one-by-one.
The second plate of sushi came shortly after and I was happy to see this assorted sushi as I thought it was interesting to serve them in this manner. The second plate had its own unique design and after making this sketch on the second plate, I slowly finished them together with my sake.
The dessert came shortly after and I also sketched this interesting subject. Finally I also asked for the stamp of Sushi Matsue and that made my sketch look more complete. I went back to my hotel happy that I enjoyed a nice sushi meal and also made my first sushi sketch here in Japan.
