A dazzling array of bright colors was on display on the morning of the Diwali Festival in Jaisalmer of 2018, when I took this photo while roaming around during this special occasion. Many worshippers can be seen entering and exiting the temple on this bright sunny morning, and their costumes and the warm colors formed a great composition for this piece.
I tried to capture their individual expressions and poses and it really challenged me to paint their faces and costumes to my best ability. The warm colors of the walls and the textures blended well together with their costumes, and I felt lucky to be able to capture this iconic scene during my trip to India.
